Salesforce recently announced its acquisition of Spiff. That company provides a platform for automating commission management for sales teams. The platform will be integrated into Salesforce Sales Performance Management.
The acquisition of Spiff gives Salesforce a platform to easily automate commission management for sales teams. It is not known how much Salesforce paid to acquire Spiff.
Spiff platform functionality
Spiff provides users with a low-code interface for setting up financial compensations of sales associates. The platform automatically updates these compensations based on targets achieved by salespeople.
The platform integrates with existing CRM and ERP systems. In addition, it says it can handle even the most complicated commission structures. In addition, salespeople can see in real-time what their commissions or bonuses are.
Salesforce plans to integrate Spiff’s technology into its own Sales Performance Management software.
Old acquaintances
Both companies are already old friends of each other. Salesforce has already invested in the platform through its own venture capitalist Salesforce Ventures in 2021 and 20222. Spiff is also available through the Salesforce AppExchange marketplace.
The acquisition should be completed in the first quarter of Salesforce’s fiscal year 2025.
