Lenovo launches new Thinkpads, Chromebooks, and modular accessories

Lenovo is unveiling new ThinkPads, ThinkVision mobile monitors, IdeaPad Chromebooks, and a variety of modular accessories designed to fit into the hybrid work environment most of us are working under. They are also suitable for classroom and remote office use.

The highlight of the latest Lenovo additions is its hybrid work, named the ThinkPad X1 Extreme Gen 4. It comes decked out with the latest in tech, featuring an 11th Gen Intel Core i9 H-Series vPro processor and Nvidia GeForce RTX laptop graphics processing unit, as well as up to 64GB DDR4 memory and SSD drive support.

What’s new on the Lenovo lineup?

The ThinkPad X1 Extreme has all the connectivity one needs with an optional 5G wireless LAN. It is a 16-inch display edge-to-edge and can display up to 4K videos. The webcam is FHD and is complemented by a decent speaker system.

The laptop weighs in at less than 4 pounds per laptop and will have a starting price of $2,149.

Other notable elements of the laptop are:

  • It is 17.7mm thick.
  • A tough body of layers of carbon fiber.
  • Three cooling systems configured with Nvidia RTX, including a hybrid cooling system, a dual bypass design, and keyboard air intake.
  • Two 2TB M.2 PCle Gen 4 SSDs.
  • Configurations that include Nvidia RTX 3080, RTX 3070, RTX 3060, and Nvidia GeForce RTX 3050Ti. The RTX 3080 has 16GB of GDDR6 memory.

At the same time, Lenovo is launching a mobile monitor (ThinkVision M15), an accessory that is designed to be used in tandem with the X1 Extreme. The monitor provides an FHD screen that’s 15.6 inches, connected via a USB Type-C cable that can also be connected to a smartphone.

Other accessories include a new ThinkVision T24m-20 display and MC50 webcam for conferencing, as well as the ThinkPad L13 Gen 2 and L13 Yoga Gen 2 with AMD Ryzen 5000 Series Mobile processors.
