The new platform should help analyze data from sensors, devices and systems. On-site processing of the data enables AI in manufacturing and industrial environments.
According to NTT DATA, this also brings industrial situations into contact with AI. An application such as generative AI makes less sense there, as one must make decisions in real-time and on the spot. Edge AI should be able to deliver real-time insights by processing huge data sets on compact computing platforms and using smaller models.
This is a fully managed platform that supports processing the data where it is generated. It also automates the tracked data and integrates information from devices, sensors, machines and systems into a format for making real-time decisions.
Operation Edge AI
This could mean, for example, that manufacturing companies use predictive maintenance to address failures early, thanks to Edge AI. But monitoring and adjusting energy consumption, predicting energy peaks and optimising machine utilisation is also possible.
The software automatically detects assets through a library of pre-built OT interfaces. After this initial phase, the Edge AI software generates a diagnostic report with an inventory of assets and data flows.
NTT DATA is releasing an Ultralight Edge AI platform, the device needed to process data and model application as NTT now presents. Interested parties can try the platform free for 30 days to see if analysis of their IT and OT environment is for them.
